Moses, “ASAA” ( the stick), and “ white hands”: the true meanings
God describes these events in 20:13 to 34. These verses are greatly misunderstood by many translators because they did not understand their metaphoric meanings but took them to mean literally. In 20:12,13 God says,”Indeed I am your Lord and Master.....And I have chosen you( O Moses). So listen to what is revealed to you.” Then from 20:17 to 34 God describes the events by saying,” And what is that in your right hand,O Moses. He said,’ It is my staff. I leanupon it and I bring down the leaves for my sheep, and I have therein other uses. He said,” Throw it down, O Moses. So he threw it down and thereupon it was a snake moving swiftly. He said,” Take it and do not fear. We will return it to its former condition. ( Metaphorically God is giving His instructions to Moses which will help him to do his work in life.
